The West Alabama Food Bank is a full service food bank that seeks to provide our member agencies and their clients with a wide-range of programs
and projects designed to meet the diverse needs of West Alabama. Listed below is a snapshot of the WAFB’s capabilities and programs.

Programs
Basic agency warehouse shopping program.
Pre-order system – agency pickup/self-delivery.
County quarterly free distribution program.
USDA commodity program.
Salvage program.
Value-added product program.
Agency specialty item order program.
Community service worker program.
Brown Bag program for needy elderly.

Mobile Food Pantry
Freezer Loan Program
Secret Meals for Hungry Children
Capacity
Dry storage (racked) capacity of over 8,000 square feet.
Cold storage including frozen fork-lift and refrigerated walk-in units.
Two Box trucks, one refrigerated with 14,000 pound freight capacity and one non-refrigerated with lesser capacity.
Forklift, electric and manual pallet jacks.
One freight loading dock and two street level loading bays.
