The Alabama – Auburn Food Fight
The Alabama – Auburn Food Fight is
an annual competition between the student bodies of The University of Alabama and Auburn University.
The Food fight winner is the student body which donates the most food to
their respective food bank (West Alabama Food Bank, Tuscaloosa and East
Alabama Food Bank, Auburn).
Since 1994 Alabama and Auburn students, faculty, staff and community
supporters go head to head to see which campus will collect the most
food. Campus organizations begin collecting food for the four weeks
leading up to the annual Alabama – Auburn football game in November.
Student organizations at each campus compete with each other to see who
will collect the most food and take first prize.
From 1994 through 2011 University of Alabama Students have collected
1,68,874 pounds of food to Auburn University’s 1,577,866 pounds. Together
our University students have donated an amazing 3,265,740 pounds of food
for distribution to the needy in their communities.
